Please look at my original thread here https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/dbty-bracelet-dilemma.212429/page-2

WF is remaking my bracelet after they reviewed the bracelet I sent back and they are going to make the bezels a little more delicate and replace the diamonds. But when I received the bracelet, I realized the culets poke my skin. I am thinking about adding a U shaped thing to cover up the culet. What is your opinion? I also think, I liked the look of bigger diamonds but fewer diamonds so I am thinking about going to 5 20 pointers instead of the 7 17 pointers.

What do you all think? I need to let Vera know soon.

I must have missed the end of the last thread! Let me go look and I'll be back!

Okay, I am out of town so that is why I missed the end of your last thread. I don't think your stones look smaller than mine at all. I think they'd be very close to the same but yours look a tiny bit bigger to me.

However, I am very puzzled by the diamonds not looking like ACAs. I can't say that I ever looked at mine with a loupe, but they appear to be beautifully cut stones. I will be interested to see what WF says when they get it back.

I would definitely not do anything to the backs. They are turned too much to do that. The diamond pavilions look pretty when the bezels are upside down, and I would definitely not like something covering them.

DS,They did not confirm but they said they will remake the bracelet with new diamonds so I am assuming that they saw what I saw. with 5 of those diamonds.

Vera is also discouraging me from going with the culet cover. I am leaning towards 5 20 pt diamonds.

what do you think?

I think if the culets are bothering you, I absolutely would not recommend going with larger stones. What you had was perfect, or even 15 pointers is great, as well.

I hate to be a Debby Downer, but if the bracelet is uncomfortable I'm wondering if it's the right choice for you? Do you think you can get used to the culets?

And my personal preference would be for six 17 point stones, I think that's perfect.

I realized that when I got the bracelet, I thought it looked busy and the diamonds were too close together on that 1.5 mm chain. Yes the culets are bothering me slightly and I thought the bezels were thicker. So I decided to go with 5 20 pointers on a 1.5 mm chain.

But Junebug, you may be right that I am not 100% sure it is the right choice for me. Since it was semi custom, I will not be able to return it and in terms of exchanging to something better, I am not sure what else I would get in that price. I will have to think about it and fast if I want to change it to something else.

Oh ok pinkprashu, I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was semi-custom and not returnable. I'm sorry this whole thing isn't going that smoothly for you.

And the bracelet will be lovely! You've seen it in person, so you know for sure what you prefer. I hope this works out!

I spoke to Vera and she said since they are remaking it anyway, I can decide to go with a different item all together.I am thinking about the Trellis 5 stone ring or the Annette U prong eternity.

What do you think?

Oh wow, that is so nice! I love my dbty bracelet and the culets do not bother me, primarily because there would have to be pressure on the stone against the skin to feel it. But if the 17 pointers bothered you, I think 20 might be a mistake.

Is a five stone band something that you have wanted? If so, then that is a nice idea! If not, then I would not do that. I think I read on another thread that you already have the WF bangle or I would have recommended that.

I'm sorry it didn't work out, pinkprashu. But the bracelet did look lovely - I have found sometimes with custom items that it doesn't look exactly how it looked in my mind's eye, but then I get used to it.

Just to confuse matters, if you want my opinion I would get the 1mm chain. I think the 1.5mm looks too thick and detracts from the diamonds and also spoils the delicacy of the piece, especially with the bracelet. My understanding is that DBTY is supposed to be as if the diamonds are floating, so the 1mm chain does that. And platinum is very strong. I have a Tiffany three-stone DBTY bracelet in plat. The diamond weight is only 0.21. But the chain is not too thin at all (1mm) and has stood up to lots of wear. The 1mm chain will make the diamonds look bigger. Just my opinion!

If you thought the 0.17 looked small, I think you'll like the 0.20 points. I have a 0.20 necklace and the culet is just fine. I think you perhaps won't notice any poking in everyday wear when you are not focusing on it, you know?

Also, I've seen both Brian Gavin bezels and WF bezels. The BGD ones are much thinner. The WF ones are more substantial, and they plump out the diamonds and make them look bigger, IMHO.

You might have seen the DBTY in Tiffany, I'm not sure, but don't forget that their lighting is very deceptive. When you get your re-made bracelet from WF, wear it for a few days in different situations before making up your mind about it.

I really hope it works out because these DBTY bracelets with the larger melee like yours are just beautiful.

I guess I'm leaning towards the eternity, because I would like one for myself lol. But a 5 stone would be really nice too. I don't know, this is a bit of a tough situation, you're in a position where you have to purchase something you really didn't intend to buy. Does anything in particular really excite you? You could also look into a pendant, or earrings. I'm not sure of what other pieces you have. Again, sorry about this dilemma!

DS, I thought I really wanted the dbty bracelet but after I got it I was not so sure. I tried the Tiffany one after I sent it back and did not love it either. I think I posted the picture on this thread.

Since I sent it back already for the diamond quality, I realized it's not about bigger stones or a thinner chain or delicate bezels. "When in doubt don't" right ? I have wanted a 5 stone ring a couple of years ago so badly. I can't say I feel that way now but I like items that I can use a lot. Everything I have gets a ton of use and I am wondering if I can get more use out of a 5 stone or an eternity band. I am thinking an eternity ring with 8 pointers or larger or a five stone with 25 pointers. I not sure.

Do you habe any other suggestions?
