David Yurman's Color changing Garnet- are these stones rare?

The ones from Madagascar with a significant blue colorway are the most prized and I think they are mined out. There are some other origins for similar color.
Not sure if the ones you photographed shift blue/violetish blue in some lighting.
Some of the best priced smaller ones, imo, are on multicolor.com

including melee sized ones, like:

Wow thanks a bunch! Is it safe to assume this is not a bargain at $1800? How does the price of this stone compare with black diamond? The current MSRP for the black diamond version is $3400 and white diamond retails for $6800 I’m wondering how much this would retail today if Yurman offered it.

If we assume each melee garnet is worth about 11.5 USD based on the 2.5mm MC ones I linked, the stone value is about 700$ (for about 60) if I counted correctly. The rest of the value comes from things like setting costs and other labor, metal cost (silver), brand value. I can't say I am familiar with how this brand holds up in estate sales (or maybe its new from the AD). May be a different story if it is gold and not silver like the one you linked.

Black diamonds are frequently heated and it is not always declared. I assume melee ones will not be checked individually and are likely to be heated. That wouldn't bother everyone. Hopefully someone else has more experience regarding pricing.
