I've had this 1.3 ct. spinel on my workbench for a long time. Today I finally made it into a ring, with sterling silver.
I recycled the shank from another deconstructed ring. I think it looks good in the bezel. I'm getting better at bezels!

It's a pomegranate shade, and very sparkly.

Gorgeous!!!!

Does bezeling in silver incur similar risks to bezeling in gold, albeit smaller risks since silver is softer?

Yes, silver is softer and more malleable.
Working the bezel over the stone in sterling is pretty easy, but it is still tricky and must be done with care.
But of course a stone could be damaged during the setting process in either metal.
