Does anyone know if the waves of the ultrasonic cleaners can damage diamonds? Maybe make the inclusions of existing diamonds bigger? Because I just read on this site that they strongly recommend not using these..

Just going off of what I remember from Science class Diamonds are EXTREAMLY hard, and sonic is only sound. So it doesnt sound like sound wave would damage a diamond, losenn it from the setting might be a differnt story. ????????

I am no expert, but people in this forum has posted positive comments about US cleaners. The thread that I read was general and did not refer specifically to diamonds.

You are right. Maybe it was saying just to gemstones.

I was always under the impression that an ultrasonic cleaner could loosen stones from their settings. Maybe this would happen if it's used too often....I really don't know. I'm never clear about this and that's why I stick with using the strainer/pot approach that I posted in another thread to steam clean my diamonds.
