I don’t do dainty rings as I have big hands but I found this cute little ring and had to have it.

Stamped 14kt gold

The seller said the stone was Paraiba Indicolite Tourmaline it’s a tiny stone so perhaps it could be hardly worth me having valued for what I paid

What do you think?

What the heck is a paraiba indicolite? Has it been tested to have copper or comes from Paraiba? Just the naming alone sends up red flags. However, if you didn't pay much for it, then I wouldn't worry about it. I do recall one poster on here with a lovely paraiba looking stone that turned out to be glass when it was verified by a reputable lab.

I thought paraibas were cuprian tourmalines and indicolites were, well, indicolite tourmalines, so different types...I would have read that listing as them saying they were selling a "paraiba-colored" indicolite, but not being direct or clear about it.

I like the color and I like dainty rings, so I think it is very pretty. I hope they didn't charge a large premium under the guise of what they call the pariaba color. I don't really understand indicolite pricing, though, so I can't comment on the value beyond that.

Paraiba tourmalines are colored by the copper impurities whereas indicolite tourmalines are colored by iron. I assume a tourmaline can be one or the other but not both?

Correct. This is the seller using the term "paraiba" as a BS selling tactic, IMHO. It's shady and incorrect.
