2.6 Carat Oval, D color center stone. The platinum setting has 2 tapered baguettes 3/8 carat total weight H color. Do you think the color difference will be obvious? If so what is the lowest color grade that will not show the difference.

yeah, I think D next to H will definitely be noticable.
As far as what will work, I''m not sure.

Scintillating...

I agree that is a big center stone and a D, so I would stick to the colorless range for the baguettes. F would be the highest I'd go.

I agree, not below an F. Baguettes show color more than other cuts because of their step cut. Does the oval have a certificate? Just wondering which company gave it a D rating.

Absolutely - a problem! As others have said, don't go below F. I saw an H pear at my jeweler's place awhile back, looked pretty white to me but when I whipped out my D pear next to it - holy moly - I could see the color in the H right away.

I agree with everyone.
my e-ring is E and one of eternity ring is G (but I belive it''s more H.)
so the eternity looks yellow.

Yep; I would not do it, especially with baguettes. I''d opt for higher color sidestones.

Thanks for the quick replies. You confirmed what I was thinking. The center stone is GIA Certified. Kind of suprised that Blue Nile has primarily H stone settings.

I don''t think it is a surprise at all. According to a jeweler I asked, the majority of stones sold average in the G-H range (and many more lower than that are probably sold as opposed to D-E''s).
