I have been looking at some diamond 360s recently and noticed this one CVD diamond that looks decent but I am no expert of course. The specs seem quite good on paper but one thing that seems to be strange to me is that it just doesnt seem to be as "bright". I am not sure if that is the right terminology but it in laymen terms it doesnt seem to glow and sparkle as the others do. I am not sure of the color as well. It seems quite clear and colorless especially compared to the brown CVDs I have seen in the past.

This is the CVD diamond in question:

Here is a brownish but BRIGHT CVD in similar specs:

Here is an HPHT that is bright with maybe slight blue tinge?:

The HPHT appears to be far brighter from all angles. Could someone explain is that first CVD nice still? Is lighting possibly at play here? Any advice is welcome of course as well.

Thank you, a fellow rock enjoyer.

I think the photography set-up is somewhat at play, but I agree with you that I'd expect the 1.22 to look brighter. I really like the 2.01 (and it's actually HPHT, not CVD).

lighting..1 does not have the led lights turned on other does.
I prefer led off because they can hide crystal defects.
However they make people go wow pretty so they are being turned on more often.

Which diamond would you prefer then? It is hard to tell haha.

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, NewbieNewGuy!
Are you tied to JA as the seller?
In my opinion, they used to have great pricing up until a few years ago when LGD pricing really dropped, but they haven't really adjusted their pricing to be competitive.

We can help you find a diamond with great optics, true ideal proportions and angles, clean material quality, and much better pricing.

If there is a specific setting that JA has, then you can send them a diamond for mounting into said setting...just make sure you have insurance on the diamond before mailing it.

Amongst the popular online sellers, I found this one listed for a little under $500, as one example for you to look at and compare with what you already found.

Here's a GIA graded diamond for just under $600, as another example:

Both of them are slightly off-center under the camera.
