Cut depth for engagement ring vs. pendant

Hi,

I am looking for a diamond in the .85-.95 carat range, H color or above and an SI 1 or 2 (depending on how bad the SI2 is...)

I have a budget of $4,000 for the diamond.

After carefully searching, I found the diamond below and called to reserve it on JA. Once on the phone with the representative, he told me that I would not be happy with this diamond because it was "Cut too shallow for an engagement ring and probably wasn't going to be eye clean." He stated that the diamond was perfect for a pendant, but not a ring. When I inserted the specs into the HCA, this diamond does excellent. Is there ANY validity to what he is saying about the cut?

Depth=60.5
Table=57
Crown Angle= 34.5
Pavilion Angle=40.6

Any advice on this diamond would be appreciated. I know it does have inclusions, but I also wasn't sure how visible they would be to the naked eye.

The cut is gorgeous! The only concern would be the clarity...I'm thinking if you bezeled it it may look ok....I don't know why he said that about the cut, those numbers are great!

I agree with above poster - the depth is just fine - but I definitely question whether the stone is eyeclean - there are inclusions in the table area which I think would be visible besides the numerous inclusions around the edges. If the sales rep was saying it would make a better pendant based on clarity rather than depth, that I would believe.

It looks pretty included, are you sure you are happy with that?

To be honest, Im not sure if I am happy with the inclusions... Its hard to tell online. I didn't think it would be all that noticeable, but I definitely do not want to give her a diamond where she is going to be seeing all this dirty "stuff" in it. Since the cut does seem to be quite good, would that overshadow the inclusions? I was also hoping that the prongs would cover some of the inclusions on the sides.
