Im kewl with any of the 3.

I like the high crown of the 2 step and it makes it a monster by keeping the crown over 25% but are the steps too big?
Not for me I think, but for someone else dunno.
I know im overthinking it cuz its 2ct(lotsa $$$) in a 1ct less expensive stone id say go for the 2 step in a heartbeat.

They might be a bit of a problem in tilt position... (or movement)
But I am aiming that direction...

Think "out of the box" storm..., with these types of unique designs..., the bigger the more unique...

at up too ~15 degrees tilt there isnt a lot of difference.
At around 20 the 3 step is slightly better and at 25 both fall down a lot.

But the sculpture effect is awesome!!! (always comes at a price

)
Wish I had it in a 5 carat plus size..., then it would be a true kicken Gem...

Yep..., I tend to agree..., and based on the virtual images..., for some reason the 2 step seems to have a better spread of virtual facets on both length''s as opposed to a 3 step...

Could play a major role in appearance!!!

yep 3D contrast.
Since Iv been playing with mixed cuts it has opened my eyes a little too something I knew and saw before but never quantified.

well done guys!!!

Please email me a sarin 3D scan DG

what did the angles come out as?

Now that was way cool to follow.

Thanks Diagem and Strmrdr.

Awesome stone, from start to finish.

BTW - can I have it?

wwwooooowwwww. That was so cool to watch happen. That diamond is spectacular. Probably one of the prettiest diamonds I have ever seen, and I''m not kidding. it seems to fix all the down-sides of step cuts (as far as I''m concerned). Wow.

I may have missed it...but what''s the final weight of that beauty? Other specs? What are you going to do with it now that it''s cut? Is it a new cut that you''ll name and brand? This is just too darn interesting for me, my head is going to explode I think....

thanks so much for doing this....more diamond cuttings, please...

hmmm the asscher came out closer, we have an angle difference someplace between real and virtual on this one.

Yes..., it seems there are some discrepancies between actual cutting and virtual designing...
My assumption: the more you sway from the typical symmetrical square or round the differences become wider..., typical problem of Sarin and Ogi!
1.gif

There are no differences in angles of actual vs. virtual (as long as your angles are correct) C1-47, C2-35.5// P1-54, P2-41, P3-31 on the mains and corners.

The biggest differences I see are the table and weight!

The appearance is pretty close though...

I changed the table to 43 on my model and redid the crown it comes out at 23.9%height.
but total depth comes out as 71.5 and weight of 2.22

I trying too figure out what I can do better on my end too make it more realistic when designing.

Whats the girdle plane? Mine is 3.8% (3.3-4.2)
And remember..., my 74 TD% is including a medium culet...

4.0%
the culet is something I cant do right until I get a better cut designer so there is some difference there.
But a med culet dont explain all of it.

What are the sizes of your crown facets? Are they even or is C1 smaller than C2?
