I was considering having a custom ring made for my significant other at a B&M store. The ring would look like the Simon G ring included below or a more vintage looking ring we saw at the store. For either ring we were quoted approximately $3500 in 18k plus an extra $500 if we wanted platinum instead. Is this a fair price?
We were also considering getting the Simon G ring if we didn't not go custom. Any thoughts on Simon G or links to similar looking rings would be appreciated (SO wants a round center diamond with a cushion halo and pave elsewhere). Thoughts on custom versus noncustom are welcomed too. Thanks!
If it makes any difference we are located in CA. We are considering Victor Canera, Joe Escobar, and Gail jewelers in Newport Beach at the moment.
