Mike, I think it is great you posted your story here. Consumers should never be scared to post bad reviews, but also should understand people are going to voice their opinions.

Personally, Dimend Scaasi lost my business two years ago. All vendors make mistakes, and all vendors (including DS) definitely have their share of fans, but the experience which I am referring to from a couple of years ago really stayed with me and IMHO was one of the most inappropriate responses ever by a PS vendor. Let''s just say that Mr. Gottesman must have learned from that experience because his response to you here is 100x better than what he posted back then, so kudos to him.

And at least you got a lovely solitaire setting and $100 as an apology. It could have been nail polish (albeit high end.) As I said, no vendor is perfect and while I wouldn''t buy from him, it does seem his customer service has gotten a lot better!!

Ditto. I remember that post, and since then I''ve referenced it when helping friends choose jewelers in our area (Chicago). I also know what it feels like to be extremely frustrated with a purchase, and I appreciate that Mike posted his experience here.

It is always easy for vendors to write a note on a public forum to defend their reputation; I wish they would extend that same courtesy to their actual clients during the fact, and avoid posts like this altogether.

What an awful experience!! I am so sorry!
