Custom ring fix ideas

The melee will give oomph to the smaller oval and pear toi et moi. I don't know the number of melee you have but something like this looks nice, and could also work well with a plain or engraved shank if you didn't have enough to do both halos and the shank.

I too would add milgrain to the platinum part of all three stones, and leave the outer bezels smooth, no melee. Save the melee for the toi et moi shank. I think you will want it there.

Agree!!!!! Thank u

Ohhhh! I like this and I have a ton of melee
60 but plus 16 in the ring im sending him.

I got the cad wax model and I’m loving it!
Omg can’t wait to see it ring come to life with the ACA, milgrain on platinum and rose gold. Seems like it’s going to be so lovely!!

Any comments, edits, things I’m not noticing? IMG_2628.jpeg

Love it! The finger coverage is awesome and he worked quickly on the wax. So glad you are excited with it - I wouldn’t change a thing!

looks perfect to me!

Yay! I’m so excited! He got the ring today so now I just wait! He’s been a dream to work with! Wow!

I would recommend to anyone ! Buy an ACA and work with DK

Or buy a lab and work with DK lol :-)

So excited

Thank you for the support !!

Wax ring looks good to me! Great finger coverage!

Have you been wearing it around the house doing normal things to make sure everything is just perfect?

Yep!!!! Haven’t taken it off yet - lol
I may wear it until real one comes - haha!

Wish I had done this with the first one. Lesson learned

You aren’t the first one to have a couple of iterations of a setting to get it right. I know it is expensive and frustrating, but now you will have a beautiful ring to enjoy for the rest of time. I am just so happy for you that this one has worked out so well!

HI Guys
for ideas on the bypass. do you like vertical or sideways?
i think i like sideways, but want input . Dk just send me this drawing but I didn't specify to make it sideways yet.
what do you all think? it will be a size 8 to wear on my left middle or index finger.

I think I prefer sideways, but it's hard to say without seeing it. Have DK send you the sideways version, then we can compare
and vote!:P2

Edit...love the wax on the 3 stone!

I think you need to look at both and think about the coverage that you want. You may get more appearance of coverage with the way the CAD looks now, or not. I think getting an additional CAD will help you decide which you want based on how much coverage you want.

Hi All
ok latest update on the bypass ring. DK just sent me this east/west.

I think I am going to wait until I have more money to get larger stones to make this ring. I will likely get lab stones (not sure on shapes) to have this made. I just am not "wowed" by this and my fingers are larger than most so getting a size 8 (middle or index finger) with these little stones will be underwhelming - i'd rather wait until i can really do it right. Lord knows, i make mistakes w/rings and then have to do them mulitple times. LOL
so maybe next year or if i get a large tax return or xmas bonus I'll revisit this.
If/when the time comes, am I posting here OR in another forum?

do you agree this would be cute but small and likely underwhelming in short order/

Thanks all!

I think you have to decide if you want this to be a larger ring or not. I would be fine with this ring, but would wear it on a ring finger and it would be a size 6 so a bit different. And I don't tend to wear large rings. It's up to you and your personal taste. I like this design better than the first, no matter the size of the stones.

If you're going with lab stones, and want help picking them out, you'd do that in the lab forum. If you like this design but just want bigger stones, you probably won't need further comments on the design.

Have you ruled out setting both stones in halos? That would give you a few more mm's in width. As is, I don't view 9mm wide as a petite ring.

Is your intent that this ring will be worn daily, or will it be more of a cocktail/special occasion ring? The size and depth of larger stone may have an affect on what is comfortable for daily wear.

As you seem hesitant with this design, it is probably good to go slow and give it more thought. Could he send you a wax model to test out for a while, or does he only do that for finalized/approved CADs?

The vertical layout looks to be even wider and I think I would like that look on a middle finger. You just have to decide if you want to use up these stones or go larger with labs. Course, that would still leave you with these two diamonds. If you are going lab, you might not want to use this ring model at all, but design something totally different. A wax model would be nice to try to gauge size. You could also consider halos for the two diamonds which would increase their overall size. I would also ask his assistant Amy what she thinks about the look of these two rings together - like does one way overshadow the other? You might be looking for balance between the two hands. Just some random thoughts and no, it never hurts to wait if you are unsure.

I like the idea of halos too. I think she has lots of melee.

Hi All
Yes i have a lot of melee here, about 50-55 I think. I like the halo idea.
If I do that, should I have the stone touching or a bit separated?

The melee will give oomph to the smaller oval and pear toi et moi. I don't know the number of melee you have but something like this looks nice, and could also work well with a plain or engraved shank if you didn't have enough to do both halos and the shank.

I really like this one with the space between the oval and pear but is there any negative to having them not touching?
I will likely wear this on most days on my left hand. the 3 stone is for my right hand ring finger.
I would wear it on my wedding ring finger but dont want it to look like a wedding ring, then again - what do i care? maybe it will keep men from approaching me. HAHAHAHA! lol

Maybe i'll get a 7 and just wear it on that finger and not care

I like the idea of halos or even double halos around both stones since you have the melee. You could get it sized for your index also if you think it’s too small for the middle.

Personally I like the idea of the stones slightly separated better than touching.

I love this. Really far apart :)
This picture the ring is so small but I do love how it looks. It must be the separation that I am liking.
SO what do you all think, if I go w/something more like this.
1) halo stones AND melee in shank?
2) Halo stones and plain shank?
and which finger?

I could get away with wearing on ring finger as its so not a wedding ring
what do you all think for left hand?
7 ring finger (may save some money)
8 middle finger
1756989799868.png

I think the only risk of far apart is catching on stuff and warping?

Have you thought about pointer finger? That would look super cool! The nice part of a wax if you have them a little separate is that I bet it would be bendy enough that you could try it on different fingers.

I think halo around stones and shank because it looks great in the inspo and you have the stones so why not?

I wouldn't worry about it looking like a wedding ring. I would probably halo both stones and maybe put a few melee in the upper part of the shank and then perhaps engrave the rest, or just leave it plain.

Which finger you wear it on is all personal style. I personally like a little asymmetry between hands, so I would do either a middle finger ring, or my favorite is an index finger ring.

I also like the idea of halo-ing both stones and down the shank.

I notice in your inspo picture (the one with the larger spacing) that the stones are tilted away from each other a little, instead of parallel to each other. Does this also appeal to you? The tilting could be done with whatever spacing you settle on.

So...I don't want to throw a wrench in the toi et moi discussion, but something like this design could be modified to add your oval in the empty loop. Since the pear is smaller, the double halo would help, and you would get the most use of all your melee'.

Have you thought of maybe angling the pear and band away from the pear stone?

I think this is a good idea regarding finger coverage
I also seem to have big fingers although one of the mall hewellers assured me it's quite common here
