WHITBY!!!! Basketball goddess! THANKS! OK, so I got quotes from Leon, ERD and BGD. I love love love ERD and have a long relationship with them because of how amazing they are. This time, Pricescope enablers got me all curious about BGD and their amazing work! So I wanted to try with them. Lesley was PHENOMENAL. I can''t wait to do a project with her. She is so wonderful!!! I know I would have gotten an amazing setting from them and very affordable.

I was about to go with Leon or BGD because I wanted to try a new designer when I walked into a store called Ultimate Jewelry in NYC. They are in the diamond district! They had really amazing eternity bands in the window - and I was eyeing a ruby band in platinum. It was rare for me to find a ruby band in platinum because almost all of them are made in gold or white gold. (I have a phobia of white gold turning yellow - long story!) So I bought the ruby eternity band! (It''s being made!) And then I just HIT IT OFF with the jeweler LC, who works there. She was so exciting, really loved jewelry and was a hoot! When she brainstormed on the studs I had on, I just found myself saying, "OK! See you in 10 days!" I loved her personal style and knew she would make something perfect for me. I also felt confident the melee would be extraordinary, and they are! I still can''t wait to work with BGD, though! Leon was VERY VERY nice and prompt. I can''t wait to work with him, too.

GWENDOLYN! You know, I had to treat myself after all the wriggling I did along with the other ladies for your exciting engagement!!!!!!! That was the highlight of PS! So much fun. Thank you so much and I''m so happy to hear the wedding planning is going so well!!!! You and James are too cute together.

exactly. that''s what''s kept me prevaricating for the last 2 years. i really *want* shepherd''s hooks, as i think they''re closer in type to the old fashioned style i want to copy, but i''m wondering if i''d be better with leverbacks. the ring my husband bought me for our 10th anniversary is a ,72ct stone surrounded by 8 x .20ct stones - so - the ring is 2.33 ctw. i was thinking about copying this for my earrings, and if i lost one, i couldnt replace them in a hurry - my pockets aren''t that deep! and this would be my birthday gift next year, so it would be a very special gift also. as a result, i get about this far in my deliberations...then decide to get a new ring! consequently, i have a collection of 48 rings and no diamond cluster earrings! lol!

i''ll keep you filled in as progress occurs...that birthday is coming around unavoidably, and it WILL be jewelry!

Risingsun, thank you! Did you decide on that halo yet? I love love love your set! I have never ever seen one like it, not online or in real life. Man, I remember your HOF earrings still. They were fireballs! Do you get a lot of wear out of them still? I would wear those every day!

We used 8 pointers and instead of 8 stones per .77 center, we had to use 10 because the inspiration pic was smaller - only 1ctw in center stone, so we had to expand it a bit. I think it makes it less flower like, which was a plus. I got a a lot of flower jewelry growing up as a girl

that I plan on giving to my daughter one day. I just wanted something a little more modern.

If you love the sheperd''s hooks... I''d get them! Just put a tiny silicone stopper up behind your ear so that they won''t fall out! I did that with my precious pieces and those suckers will never move. But they are a bit of a pain to put in and take off. Still, worth it for the look! Yay for your birthday! I got these for my birthday present. I, like you, feel like jewelry pieces are really memorable markers to celebrate the special years in your life.

And whenever I wear them, I think of DH!

Here's another IRL shot - you can kind of see the halo around each center stone but they're set so tightly in most cases you just see sparkle. My mom tells me not to wear any other diamonds when I wear these. LOL. I should always listen to my mother!

She's always right. I have small earlobes because when I just had the 1.57 studs, they looked plenty sizeable. But I think I'll get used to these, too. They're grown up!

Not yet! Great memory!!!! I am into really long necklaces these days---saw deux tres fab pieces lately--one with large chocolate pearls and bezel set diamonds, and the other with gemstones both in yellow gold......yum yum....

But I think I''ll wait unitl we go to Cali on vacay--I always seem to find something there!
