Custom Engagement Ring Design problems

Hi,

After looking at engagement rings and not finding anything that I loved we decided to go the custom design route. I have a design in mind based off of an antique ring I saw on Pinterest. I looked in my area for a custom ring jeweler and after speaking with several, selected the one I thought was the right fit.

Had a consultation with the jeweler, and showed pictures of several rings that had parts that I wanted to incorporate into the ring. I am very detailed and brought pictures of what I like and what I don't not like!

This week the jeweler sent me two CAD images for the head of the ring. The design does not incorporate some of the things I specifically asked for. The best example was I wanted the center diamond bezel with milgrain set in rose gold with prongs in platinum. In the drawings the center diamond is not bezel set and the prongs are rose gold. And overall the designs in general don't align with my style.

I wanted to blend together aspects of the antique ring with some modern touches. I have a very clear idea of what I want but now seeing how off the mark these original drawings are I am not confident that this is the correct jeweler to create my vision.

Now to my questions:
Am I over reacting? How many adjustments does it take to the original mock-up before the design is ready to be made in wax?

Should I walk away now? And how do I do that? I have not signed a contract with the jeweler and I am willing to pay for the time spent on the mock-up but I don't think I want to use this jeweler.

Please let me know what I should do.

Can you upload some visual aids?

I say walk away now if your having any doubt

Change the jeweler, that's my opinion! This jeweler does not carefully listen to you and does not get your idea. Will be a hassle to achieve with him what you are really like!

Firstly, if you don't feel like the fit is right, walk away now. Rather than just talking to a jeweler, in the future try to see examples of their work so you can see if their overall aesthetic jives with yours.

Honestly this doesn't make any sense to me. What do you mean by bezel? Because if you mean the same thing people usually mean, it makes no sense that there would also be prongs. Based on this sentence alone, I'd say it could be that you aren't clearly communicating what you want to the jeweler. Is it possible that you draw a picture, no matter how shitty it is, of what you want to try to explain it?

This is why we need a visual. A bezel takes the place of prongs.
