hi,

Just curious anyone have a diamond halo setting custom made for a stone they all ready had? I have a stone I want to incorporate into a halo setting any thoughts on vendors would be appreciated thanks

How fancy do you want to go? I reset my original engagement stone into a deco halo pendant by Ivy and Rose. The thread is on "show me the bling" board.

It all depends on what you want and what your budget is.

I was looking at Tiffanys the other day and came across a double cushion halo that she really liked. It was very small. The center stone was .33 but the look she really liked! Budget wise I'd say around 2-4K for the setting

Ok,
So here's where I'm at with the design of the setting this far with DK!! What do you all think any input would be great thanks also I'm considering make the chain into a DBTY any thoughts on that????

I think the pendant looks great!

I can chime in on the DBTY chain. I just recently had SK make me a halo pendant with DBTY chain. Although I love the look of the necklace, the diamond chain definitely gives it a "fancy" vibe. So think about what you want to wear it with. Mine can go fancy, business, and some casual outfits. However, I don't wear it with scrubs and feel a bit self conscious when I try to pair it with really casual outfits even in my upscale neighborhood. So the DBTY chain pushed my pendant out of the everyday category for me. Now I'm looking for a second pendant for an everyday necklace. Also, the little sharp points on the DBTY diamonds stab me often! It's not torture to wear, but similar to tight shoes. My husband has threatened to file them flat the next time I get scratched! I didn't realize this was an issue with these necklaces.

Thanks Posh for the reassurance I have no idea really what I'm doing here this is a wedding gift and she recently tried on a DBTY necklace at tiffanys and she liked it. So I figured incorporate that into this piece. She is small 5'2" 100lbs do you think a 16" chain would be appropriate? Also I asked David to put 6 .07 diamonds for the chain do you think that's sufficient? Thanks for your input much appreciated

This would change the look of the pendant but you could consider either adding a delicate diamond bail on the pendant or modifying the design so you can slip a chain through the back of the pendant. This way, your wife can wear different chains with the pendant, including a dbty pendant. I am not a great fan of dbty pendants (I own one), only because of the constant flipping of the diamonds. Also, I sometimes feel pricks from the points of the diamonds. It's not unbearably painful but it is annoying.

Yes, 16" should be perfect for her size. I wear 17" and I am a good bit over her height and weight!

I also don't love the round ears coming out of the sides. I really like the sides of the halo to be thicker so the chain can go through the top of the pendant or either have a bail. Example:

This is a gorgeous double halo pendant with a bail:
