First and foremost...

THANK YOU for everyone''s opinions, comments and the tremendous the wealth of information that has been compiled by all of you.

I''ve been working with both Lesley and Brian to design a custom ring for me to propose with. I''ll make a separate thread for them. For now, all I can say to them is: THANK YOU!

Brian Gavin Diamonds:
Diamond: 1.215-F-SI1 BGD H&A

The band was planned for 3mm. However, Brian suggested that it would have to be slightly larger to accommodate the 3 rows of micro-pave. From what I can tell on the rendering, it appears to be about 3.5mm. Each small square is 1mm.

(the diamond is approx. 6.85 dia.)

It really does!

When I first got it, I called Lesley to say that the diamond looks a little milky. I thought it was something to do with the platinum setting affecting the performance. Lesley indicated that the milkiness is what unfortunately what happens to well cut diamonds in direct sunlight (something to do with UV Rays). When I got it home, I started playing with it around candlelight and in indirect light. It''s SOOOO lively!! The radius around the band makes the micro-pave ''dance'' with activity.
I''m really looking forward to seeing my gf''s response!
