Cushion Cut Question

I''m in the process of buying a cushion cut stone. its 3 carats (8.99x8.4 with a 1.06 LW Ratio.

H Color
VS2 Clarity
59.4% Depth
58% Table
Medium Culet

Just wondering if any of these specs should be concerning. I have been quoted around $35K for the stone and want to know if that is a fair price.

You really need to see a cushion to judge it properly, the numbers don't tell you much at all about how well it can perform, or how it looks, have you seen it in person? Also does this diamond have a lab grading report and if so, which lab? The type of grading lab can have an influence on the price, so we need that info. If you have seen it and you love it, then that is the most important thing. The colour and clarity look fine. If the diamond is with an online vendor, ask for detailed photographs and an ASET image if possible.

I don''t see any red flags so far but since you are plunking down a lot of moolah, I''d send it to a reputable independant appraiser like Dave Atlas to check it out before the actual/final purchase.

Thanks. The Lab is GIA. I plan to visit the jeweler this week but will see if I can get any pics in advance. Thanks for the link to ASET, I will check it out.

My other option is the 3 3ct stones on that GOG video (http://goodoldgold.com/video/). Jon from GOG said they are all available. I think the H&A will be out of my price range but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on going as low as SI2 - even though he said it is eye clean. Or going to an I color.

Sorry, I am very new at this and looking to get as much free knowledge as possible so I can maximize the value.
