I'm in the beginning stages of planning a new project: a diamond pendant. I most likely will go to Yekutiel at IDJ as I really like and trust him / his work, but wanted some help with defining a vision / planning.
BACKGROUND:
I'm starting to find that I wear my e-ring & wedding band with my tiffany diamond studs w/ the awesome jackets that IDJ made for them every day and would love to have a simple diamond necklace that worked with them both. I have a tiffany pave diamond open circle but find I avoid it mostly bc the small stones are kind of flat looking. I asked Yekutiel at one point about setting a stone inside it, but that isn't an option I'd be happy with as it would be kind of 'googly eyed' with the stone attached to one side.
CRITERIA:
*I want it to work well with my rings and earrings; doesnt have to match but should somehow fit together
*haven't set a budget; but know that sourcing stones can get rather pricy. I would be open to re-evaluating if need be, am looking at this as a discovery process first.
*i don't care too much about carat weight but would like it to have presence and face up big.
*leaning towards no halo -- maybe even a bezel, but am concerned it won't quite go with my rings / earrings?
*want it to be white gold, would love if it could integrate rose gold somehow, like my e-ring
*i really dislike bails: that connector that suspends a pendant. And would prefer it to be attached to the chain from the sides? or from the back.
*here's an example of a setting / shape i was interested in from Diamonds By Lauren
thanks in advance for any thoughts!
