Any thoughts on this Cushion ASET image? Thanks.

Hi Duke8284,

My amature opinion is that it looks pretty good. Lots of red with not too much green thrown in makes for a nice bright stone. The facets under the table that alternate with the maltese cross facets look a little dark (possible slight light leakage) and it doesn't show much blue (dark light obstruction whigh is good for contrast), but that could be related to how the ASET was taken. Do you have any pictures of the stone under regular lighting conditions?

I'm sure someone with more experience will also chime in.

I love the vintage look of your stone.

Badly taken ASET, too much background light and out of focus.
The image will hide areas of obstruction from being seen properly as the colors are bleeding together.
Is this an image from ERD? They still need to work on their lighting setup.

I won''t draw proper conclusions from this image, I see symmetrical light reflections in the image which shouldn''t be there, and these cast doubt on any possible interpretation.

I stand corrected. Thanks CCL!

CCL - Thanks for the input. No, not from ERD. Here''s another ASET. Thoughts on this one?

I see obstruction and resultant darkness across the wdith of this one from 3 - 6 o'clock.
If the image of the first one was accurate I would reccomend the first one for viewing in person.
What I would look for in these 8 main antique style cushions is a bright red maltese cross and red well distributed along the edges and minimal black (leakage).
If the image of the first one was accurate it would be the one I would choose of the two.

Neither is up to the standard of light return as a GOG Augst Vintage Cushion though example http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6929/.
But only you can decide if the premium is worth it for the best in light return in this style.

Hi Duke,

A couple of important questions here, what size are these diamonds and are they GIA graded?
