Hi,
Do you mean seeing an open culet while looking at the diamond from above in the face up position or do you mean being able to see the culet from a profile view of the setting? Also, what shape stone are we talking about? I like an open culet in antique style cuts and I also like it when a setting is open and allows you to see the culet from the side view. I''ll see if I can find some links to illustrate...
If you mean from the profile view - being able to see the whole side of the diamond - I like it. I wanted that on my reset. Like this? (It''s tilted a little, but held straight you would see the whole culet etc.)
I wish it were mine! I wanted my diamond situated like Punch n Pie's, but it didn't turn out that way. (that ring belongs to a PSer named MsPunchNPie or something like that.
Actually, yours looks perfect to me! Where did you get your ring? Prongs like yours, with the diamond set just like yours, is what I'd like for my solitaire.
p.s. Can you also post a profile view of your beautiful ring? Thanks!
I think it''s great in open settings, don''t love it so much in normal prong settings *if* it just looks like the diamond was set too high. But I LOVE the side view if the prongs are meant to show it off.
Mine''s a cushion, but you can see some culet fire here!
