Crisis Moment: Wedding Band Highlighting Engagement Diamond?

So I could really use help. I have to decide on a wedding band like yesterday, and I keep going back and forth between a single prong and double prong band. I liked the idea of my wedding band being thicker than my engagement ring band. Which style do you think will compliment my engagement ring more. I am just really nervous about choosing a band that will take away from my beautiful diamond.

I want something as low set as possible that highlights my stone.

Pretty please let me know your thoughts!

I definitely prefer the single-prong band with your ER - very pretty yet blingy combo!

I love the single prong because it doesn't look like one big band of diamonds (ering and band)... you can see each beautiful ring individually, and it doesn't look as "matchy." :)

Vote for single prong here!

Double! It creates a calmer look to my eyes. And not too matchy as the band is thicker with bigger diamonds

Single! The double seems to take away the shape of the center diamond more and mush it all together. With the single, the center diamond still looks more defined to me, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the feedback so far!! I think a fun side of me wants single, but the practical side wants double :twirl: Is the double a better choice in the long run. Like durability and classic style wise?

I’m not really feeling the “fit” with either band. Have you considered having a larger diamond version of your Ering band made by the same maker? Just a thought.

I like the single prong better, but honestly would prefer the band to be closer in size and style to your e-ring band. But I like the thin look. To me, it makes your center stone say, "kapow".

Single prong, and here’s why...

When I look at the sets, the double prong blends with your ering and is a classic but standard look (not that there’s anything wrong with that). The single prong band commands its own attention, which also brings attention to your ering as a separate but complimentary entity.

At least, in my opinion! :mrgreen2:

I love the single prong. I think the double causes a diamond shrinkage illusion w your ering.

This exactly for me too! Although I see I am in the minority.

Team Single Prong Diamond Band, here!!
It stands out, but compliments your ER, rather than blending in with it, and creating a “welded” look. I do like them stacked together, but I prefer the dbl prong band to be separated from the ER, by the single prong band, with the ER at the top. I think that looks lovely, cohesive, and combines the “set” together.
My vote: get both & stack them!! ;)2

My fiance is going to hate you $$$ haha  Thank you for the feedback. Right now it will just be one band (but maybe in a year or two :P2)

This feedback has been super helpful. Does anyone know stability wise if a single prong holds up well long term?

My DH is still recovering....lol!!! For now, I love the single prong band with your ER.

I really like the single one with your engagement ring quite a lot more than the double one. When I looked at the double one, it's close enough to your engagement ring band in style that it then looks like it needs to be thinner. Everything sort of mushes together and then the rings somehow look like they're fighting with each other for attention. With the single one it's much more easy to see your central stone, and it looks much more balanced and intentional. I'm trying to find the words to describe exactly what I mean... uh, the different styles look like they compliment each other rather than fight with each other.

Obviously that's just my personal opinion - both bands are beautiful.

Why don't you get the single one to wear with your engagement ring, and then the shared prong one to wear when you're not able to wear your engagement ring??? :D

That way you can also stack them if you wish.

:D

Another one in the minority - I prefer the double prong. It looks more harmonious with your engagement ring, to my eye. And not too matchy, as the widths are different.

I like the single prong, but it also seems to have better diamonds than the double prong.

+ 1 for single prong!

I would prefer a band to match your engagement ring, but of the 2 choices you posted I think I would go with the single prong band.

I find the single prong wedding band to give your set a more interesting look.

Some are well made, some are not. The best is Memoire purity but it also costs about double most other makers.
