I am getting married in September, and would love to use some heirloom diamonds in creating a wedding band for my FW. My mohter gave me a link that comprised a bracelet that her mother (my grandmohter) had worn. The link that I have is platinum, has a ~.75 carat center stone, and about 30 smaller diamonds around it. My goal is to have a jeweller take some of the smaller diamonds out to creat a channel set wedding band, and then have the center of the link (the .75 carat stone and a couple small stones) turned into a pendant necklace to use as a wedding gift. A local B&M has said that they can do this, but I am wondering if any of our trusted online vendors who do any of this work, even though i would not be buying the stones from them? I know that I can always just e-mail them, but I just wanted to put this out there and see if anybody else has done anything like this. Thanks!
