Creating a bracelet with OEC centre, opinions needed please.

I would like to get a custom bracelet made. My idea is to have an OEC in the centre of the bracelet. I would like to have a pear diamond either side (with the fat end of the pears facing the OEC), then either MRB's or rose cuts or OEC' s (I haven't decided yet). I need to buy the diamonds bit by bit, starting with the centre OEC. It will all be set in white gold or platinum.

I am currently looking at a GIA L, SI1 0.83ct OEC. If I buy a L OEC do you think all the rest of the diamonds in the bracelet need to be L colour?

The bracelet will be either 6 3/8 or 6 1/2 inches long. Do you think that an 0.83ct OEC will be big enough to then have pears either side and smaller diamonds making up the rest of the bracelet?

I am thinking of either tulip baskets to hold the diamonds (if possible, I have no idea), or bezel set, but am also open to suggestions.

It's very early stages of this project. I appreciate any help or suggestions. Thankyou

Just my opinion, but it would be unusual for the smaller diamonds to need to be the same color as the larger center diamond. Even if they were, they might appear to be whiter as the smaller diamonds often do not show as much color as a larger diamond. Much would depend on the cutting of the smalls as well as the cutting of the larger diamond, as some OEC's show more of the body color than others when viewed face up.

Of course, if you WANT them to be the same color, then that is not a problem. All you need to do is tell your vendor, and since you are buying the diamonds bit by bit, be sure to have a return policy so that you can send the small diamond back if you do not like how it looks with the center diamond.
