I'd pay about $200 for it. Interested in selling?

Why would you say $200 ??

He's just joking, as in he'd LOVE to have that in is hands for a mere $200. Don't know anything about appraising but it sure as heck looks good!

Are there any certifications for the diamond?

Looking at the description.

How much do you think its worth? How much would one actually pay for it? How much would it be retail?

LMBD

It looks like a ring from ebay? If it is, how do you know that its is actually as described. Will the seller agree to escrow, conditional on an independent appraiser validating the specs?

Why are you so keen to buy from ebay anyways? If it's for price, I'm not sure you'll get the best value there.

PriceScope has similar radiants listed at around $25,000-$27,000 in the database, take a look.

(whoops on the double post)

im sorry, but i dont know that much about radiants and can therefor not give you a good answer. im sure some of the radiant lovers or those that "know" jewelry sale worth can chime in and help ya out! sorry! im a RB girl myself!

Same here... I don't know anyting about buying radiants. There are a few people here who do, so hopefully they will chime in. In the meantime, you can probably get some ball park figures by doing some searches on the PS search engine as well as some of the online vendor's search engines.

By retail...do you mean a B&M jewelery store? They are typically higher than online vendors due to higher overhead, but the diamond market is becoming more and more efficient. If you are buying it as a consumer, you are buying at some "retail" price. They will vary depending on the mark up of the seller.

I'd love to help, too... but like Bling, I'm a "RB girl", as well!

But the photo is beautiful, and FWIW, my eyes tell me that the stone is lovely!

Sorry I can't be of any more help...

The listing said that the diamond is magnified 35x, but I don't see any inclusion photos, just the one below which is more like 3x. Anyhow, you can definitely see the inclusions already (10-12 o-clock positions on the table) even at this very low mag. If you're going purely for size and don't mind seeing black dots, then it may or may not be a good buy.

Would u consider 16K for the ring?

I would rather spend the same $16K on quality than size. A smaller diamond with lotsa pizzazz that grabs people's eyes from across an intimately lit restaurant would be my preference.

What do u mean by signature?

One of the big questions on this diamond (among quite a few others) would be whether it is really a "J" color or not.

There's an approximate 15% drop in value between a "J" and a "K" color.

There's an approximate 40% drop in value between a "J" and an "L" color.

That's not even getting into whether it's really an SI1 or not...

$81,486 "retail" value? That guy (or gal) should be ashamed of himself.

Oh, stay away....far away.........

So, Rich,........... If the price drops like a rock on color only, what about clarity,......... SI2 and I1??? and a combination of color and clarity???

I know monitors may not accurately represent color, but,.......from the one pic I saw, I cannot believe this diamond is a J color.

In the fine print:

"100% Genuine Natural Diamond. The center diamond is enhanced."

The inclusions are easily visible - I hate to have seen it before it was "enhanced". Everything these guys sell seems to be CE.

Yea, I was just joking... In other words, I wouldn't be willing to pay any significant amount for a diamond without knowing a lot more about it.

If it really is "enhanced" that m,eans that significant inclusions, possibly even fractures in the stone, have been filled in with some type of permanent or semi-permanent filler. I know in colored gemstones (such as emeralds) this is a common practice and has little effect on value. But in diamonds, I beleive that the effect on price can be quite drastic.

I would not buy a diamond from eBay without a 100% money-back guarantee. 3-5 days won't cut it, get aty least two weeks to take it to a professional appraiser. OF course, more than likely you're wasing the fees of getting is appraised and shipping it back.

Check out the "Me" page on the sellers auction page to see if their provide adequate information as to who they are etc..It is vague at best.

Check the bottom information about the shipping folks--Notice that the shipping is via Royal Mail? and the shipping is free in the UK? AND the shipping is a required 70 GBP? That equals about $130 US dollars for shipping.

It would be interesting to see if this seller would be willing to go through the Escrow service that that site offers to protect everyone involved.

When in doubt, don't buy it. There's not nearly enough information there. Remember what they say about a fool and his money?

I'm quite sure there are better deals out there... if you buy from a reputable vendor, be it B&M or online.

I would run far, far away from this stone! The numbers do not look that great to me, and I would not trust what you're seeing with your eyes on your computer screen (some people are AMAZING with photoshop--unfortunately I'm not one of them). You need to keep in mind that cut is the most important "C", and that you have too little info on it to make an informed decision at this point. There are some reputable Ebay dealers (diamonds by Lauren is one), but you'll see that, while their prices are low (competitive with other internet vendors), they're in no way saying their prices are a steal. Also, you can't trust the certificate as many of these people know someone GIA certified who gets a kickback when the ring is sold. I just wouldn't risk it.
