Hi

My first post so I hope this is the right place! I’ve seen a ring I am interested in purchasing online (18k gold, 1ctw 9 x graduated princess stones - no idea of how many points each stone is). My question is do you think it would be possible to have this resized from a 5.5 to an 7.5?

Cheers

Ruth

Yes. They will cut the shank and replace the lower section. But the ring will end up a bit oval in profile not round as they can't flex the area around the diamonds.

Thanks for your reply. That makes sense in terms of how it could be done. Sadly I’m thinking it might be more hassle than it’s worth to have it resized so much.

I have large fingers and get rings re-sized all the time. Pretty easy to do. They will credit you for the value of the gold they cut off and then you usually only pay for the added gold to extend the size and some bench-time.

Oh, love the engraving idea. I haven’t bought the ring yet so will have a think - I’m in the UK and don’t have a reliable contact for a jeweller who would do this without being very expensive. I have my eye on a more sensible 7 1ctw stone brilliant eternity so will need to decide - that’s not a complaint when the choice is between diamonds or diamonds tho!

HI:

I had a ring almost identical to this one--I gave it to my sister who has size 4 fingers. She sized it down at least 1.5 sizes and wears it on her middle finger. No issues.

cheers--Sharon

I do like the ring quite a bit, but its got to suit you and your lifestyle. We have another UK member who had great things to say about Durrant's of London (15 Greville St, Hatton Garden, London EC1N 8SQ, 020 7242 2888) for a custom ring. @BrimstoneTwo bought a Whiteflash ACA and had them make her lovely ring. Might be worth getting a quote to resize the ring and they must have compete engravers they use. The art deco designed I played with are all pretty easy to execute if you like that idea.

Oh don’t worry about the hassle if you love it! I once sized up a patterned, 10mm wide band and then jeweler had to recreate the pattern. Worth it! I like this ring you found a lot too, even without the hypothetical engraving (amazing idea, @rockysalamander )
