I guess GVS2 - has the beautiful arrows and optical symmetry and solid light perf
H VVS2 - has slightly better light return (more red) but less symmetrical
H SI1 - significantly cheaper but no ASET, should be solid
You think I can't go wrong with either of them? Which one would you pick?

If I were buying, it would be between the H SI1 and the G VS2.
The H SI1 is just well priced.
The G VS2 is not cheap, although it's got lovely appearance.I wish it was under 4k.

My thoughts too. I feel like G VS2 had to be a perfect ASET to be worth the price. We have them on hold and will decide soon. I think we're inclined to go with the H SI1 - with the low AUD the price difference is significant

Okay so my friend said he'll bite the H SI1 and we're going to ask for smaller prongs, Lauren from JA (who is really helpful) said they can do a full gemological review and ASET before setting the stone! At least then we can know if there's any red flags before it's shipped to Australia!

The Gemologist review is:

Your diamond has true H color, faces up white and is eye clean. The overall brilliance and light performance is very good with some light return from center and brighter from crown and perimeter but nicely balanced throughout. Fire/sparkle is average for this cut, more sparkle than fire but nice cushion shape. Please let us know that you approve of this diamond and we can continue with production!

I think they are about the same in term of light return. Both have a bit of leakage under the table here and there. It is upto how eye clean the SI1 is. Ask the JA gemologist.
For a US shopper, I say go for the SI1. But for an international shopper, it is a bit risky.

Still my answer.
At the end, I would pick the JA H SI1. Great value.

H SI1 is the only choice left as the other 2 we got ASETs for are sold. I think she will be happy with the ring because she's not expecting it and it's still an "above average" cushion. Ring is in production now. Thanks for all your help!
