My wife does that... She goes like once every other month... It ranges from $250 a session to $50 for touch up sessions... Probably spent about $1500 over 1.5 years..

But well worth it! Tell your FI that you just don''t want your underarms done, and that its the the gift that keeps on gving... and he''ll spring for it...

I second Tacori on this one. I still have to shave, I defintely have less hair, but I don''t think it was worth the time/$$/pain.

I did my hairline (got rid of baby hairs) and I paid about $1200. It worked really well and I must say it''s the best use of my money I''ve ever made. My underarms are next. Shop around. Medspas tend to be the most affordable. They have package deals.
Keep in mind it works better on some people than others.

Yes, I will admit I do have less hair but shaving a few hairs is pretty much the same as shaving the normal amount of hair

I went to a Medspa...it's still a lot of money (cost of some diamond studs).

ETA: Skippy is 100% right, pregnancy does wonderful things to your body *including* mysterious hair growth

For me it was very worth it. My hair is black and my skin is pale and white, so even shaven, just the hair underneath showed through and my legs never looked completely smooth. To make it worse, my pale white skin was SO sensitive that I always had bumps. I concur that the hair is not 100% gone but it by far mostly gone, and I never have rashes anymore.

Not for the guy its not... Less hair = less friction... think of kissing your husband with stubble vs kissing your husband when he was 15 with a few stubbly hairs shaved... big difference...

I don''t quite follow you sna

FYI when I had it done the nurse said the underarms and face were the most painful places to get it done.

I had it done on my upper lip, chin, and neck and it''s AMAZING! I didn''t have much hair there to start with, though.

I''ve been saving up to do underarms but now I''m worried it won''t be worth it. My lady charges $1,000 for the first 5 underarm sessions, and then $50 a session for touchups. I didn''t need any touchups for my other laser treatments.

I''ve been waxing my underarms for a while now and there''s not much left from the waxing, did the ladies who had poor results wax first, too? If so, I don''t think I''ll do it.

I had my upper lip done. I didn''t find it painful at all, although I probably only got about a 50% reduction.....I''m planning to give it another go in the near future, and see if we can rid myself of that other 50%. I think the cost for the upper lip was around $500.

Is that really what people have done? I know 4-5 female friends that have had laser hair removal and all of them did the full bikini removal... One of them gave birth a few years ago, and said that all the nurses and the doctor gathered around to look at her down there, becuase they couldn''t believe what it looked like... haaa

I have actually been myself--twice--when I drove with D to her appointment... The first time I went I was in the lobby and the girl who does the treatments came out and was like "your FI wants me to zap your fingers. She says you have ape fingers and that the ring you tried on today looked absurd because you couldnt see it around all the hair."

So... I got all 10 figners zapped... Apparently I''m a big wuss, b/c I was told I was worse than any woman who''d ever been in there for the "extreme bikini" wax... Haa...

BTW, the second time I went back with FI, I was into my 2nd day recovering from laser eye surgery, and was on percocets. I literally did not feel a thing. She could have done every hair on my body and I wouldn''t have felt anything... The lady doing the treatments said that they used to be able to prescribe pain meds for patients, but werent allowed to any longer b/c we live in Massachusetts where everything is regulated beyond belief... I guess it makes a big difference.

I''ve had 2 treatments for a bikini/underarm combo at $300/treatment. There is a new place (a chain spa) that is doing 3 treatments for $250, so I''m definitely going to switch...I hardly have to shave my underarms anymore already!

Around $800 for underarms.. maybe $1500 for bikini. Prices can really vary by the place doing it.

Also, make sure that they are doing treatments in the right increments. 7-10 weeks for face, 10-14 for body, 14-16 for legs. That way the hair is in the right "active" stage. The best laser hair removal is done on pale skin with dark hair.
