Re: Cost of including one/two small sapphire under the baske
It is much easier to have it done when creating the setting, rather than after the fact. There's not only the cost but the integration or flow of the ring that is affected. Some designs do not lend themselves to such modification and will end up looking awkward or it just isn't possible.
Re: Cost of including one/two small sapphire under the baske
Hi Chrono,
I meant to say that the setting would be designed to include such a stone. I don't already have the setting. Therefore, I'm wondering what it would cost to take an existing solitaire design and modify it to include one or more sapphires.
Re: Cost of including one/two small sapphire under the baske
Oh, so it's still in the design phase? Will you be sourcing the stone or will the jeweller be getting it? The stone itself isn't all that much, so it is mostly labour. I would think $500 should more than cover it.
Re: Cost of including one/two small sapphire under the baske
When my fiance bought my ring, they placed a blue tourmaline inside the shank of the ring at no cost. I think it's up to the jeweler you're working with and the design of the ring. It should be more the cost of placement than the melee --- unless they're sizable stones.
