I''ve lurked and studied hard for a few weeks and am narrowing to some decisions.
Thanks so much for this resource and forum!

Please check out this princess.

My specific question is whether there''s too much blue in the ASET photo that''s on the GIA report. I''m afraid that too much blue in the ASET means a head blocking the light will kill the light return.

Also, why would GOG''s ASET photo on the 5568 frontpage look quite different (less blue) from the GIA report shot?

I''m absolutely looking for general comments on this pick, too. Thanks in advance.

I can't help on the princess, but here is the correct link, so someone else can.

Thanks BG!!

The ASET is a good image and it should be a lovely diamond. Some blue is desirable in ASET, you can read more in the link below on how to interpret the images.

http://www.highperformancediamonds.com/index.php?page=education-performance

"RED, GREEN and small areas of BLUE are equally important to the contrast pattern in a princess cut. The pattern is less defined than the round brilliant so princess cuts rely strongly on movement to create the on-off fireworks you see as scintillation. The distribution of colors is extremely important in this shape. WHITE leakage can be present but should be minimized."

It appears this diamond has been put on hold for someone.
Anyhow, this diamond is beutiful and the ASET shows minimum leakage of light.

Sorry about the link and thanks for the correction. It seems that I cannot edit my original post.

I''ve read quite a bit about how some ASET blue is crucial for contrast, but I worry that too much blue could make the diamond look dead when looking straight down at it.

It doesn't have 2 much blue your good :}
To much obstruction is something that Jon really pays attention to and it wouldn't make his top category if it was a problem.
