I'm new to posting but have been reading for a while.
Wanting to set 1.5ct round diamond.
Love Bella's love with matching band in platinum. Considering only doing stones 3/4 around as I don't really like eternity for cost and damaging stones. I want to wear daily but take off of course for showering and chores.

Any thought? Any hand shots if anyone owns this set?

Would love to add so pink sapphires? Thoughts ?
Do you think I should not have three sided stones as they would rub on band.

Thanks for your advise?
Any other ideas?image_371.jpg

I think this is a gorgeous set! Very blingy with lots going on but not overkill by any means!

I think you could do pink sapphires. For me personally I would do them either in the halo or under the basket. I like to keep things classic.

As far as the 3 side pave I really like that element but you would have to wear a spacer between the bands or solder your rings together to keep them from rubbing against each other.

I tried this ring on when I was researching my setting. It is lovely but is set really high. That is not necessarily a bad thing, you just need to be aware of it and make sure that it works for your lifestyle. You would have to be a little more careful wearing it than a lower set setting. It is lovely and delicate in person. I think it would be pretty with some pink sapphires or pink diamonds!

I saw a couple of her rings both ways, half around and full around, and I loved the full setting. I would probably go for the setting with pave up to the 5 o'clock to 7 o'clock marks but no less. But that is me. I want full finger coverage for the pave.

Thank you very much for your speed comments. I have read lots of thread about your gorgeous ring. This floral feel was just really different and I loved the band - criss cross/infinity not sure what I should call it.

Should I forget the second band and only wear one???? Save some money too.

Do you think this set has a comfort rounding on the inside of the rings? Could it be done? I like my rings to have a curved feel and not harsh look. I know this might leave a space between the rings but I'm OK with that.

I'm not keen on the spacer idea. I agree with your idea to do 5 to 7 level of pave. So if I want two rings I can't have three sided right. I'm a bit new at this.

When you say in Halo to add pink sapphires - do you suggest to be seen from side view of the basket head section. Could I do up the side of alternate petals from the side only???

Or am I better to simply add a few in the centre of the band where it crosses over in the rings. Just a hint of colour. Really dumb question will pink sapphires be cheaper than tiny diamonds?

Now to confuse the choices - I also really love. Victor Canera

Do you like this set better? Could I combine the two and do the criss cross band with the flush set head with pink sapphires on the stems and at the centre of the criss cross of bands?

My stone is 1.5ct round.

Thanks very much for your comments you all have fantastic tastes and have outlined so much fine detail to look at. I love open blingy looks seeing the cutlet of the centre stone.

I don't know where you could have this beauty but yes.... it's a fantastic beauty! :appl: :appl: :appl:

I think thats a beautiful setting thats going to be very sparkly.
I am not keen on matchy matchy wedding sets so I would go for a plain wedding band. Let the ering really shine. Also you wouldn't have to worry about the rubbing so much as plain bands are earlier to polish scratches out. As to inside edges, I have some squarer and rounded ones and I cant feel the difference during normal wear so I wouldn't worry about it to much.
Do you have a stockist of this ring near you that you could go and try on? Nothing beats seeing and feeling yourself.

Chel180 - thanks for your comments. Good news about the inside and not noticing the difference. I have seen a photo of the ER with a thin straight WB either side of the ER and it does look nice. I understand the matchy matchy consideration. It would likely to be more cost effective too.

Unfortunately, I will be purchasing this from afar......I'm in Sydney, Australia.

Do you like the idea for adding some pink sapphires? I assume would be cheaper than pink diamonds. If so, where would you add them exactly. My thoughts are not to be seen from to top down view in the halo.

Do you like the lina version of the wedding band or do you think it too is too matchy matchy?

You should hit the report concern button on the right hand side and ask the MODs to move this to the RockyTalk section. You will get more responses there. This forum is to show off your already finished bling.

First off I think you need to find out exactly how much of the designer setting you can alter. They might not be willing to make changes etc. As far as the VC setting that is the Emilya halo which many of us (including myself) have on PS. VC will be able to make it whichever way you want however I would ask him what he thinks would look best.

Regarding your comment in the other thread about shipping back and forth from the states. You could have the ring made/bought in the states and shipped over empty, then get a local aussie jeweller to set the stone here. you would get to keep your diamond in Australia without paying multiple customs duties. There is a good thread somewhere about AUFTA rules if you have a hunt.

I would choose a very plain domed band myself. I love the scalloped ring you show above but I wouldn't wear the two together, I think the two beautiful rings would blend into one another.

I think you need to find out how much the vc ring or the original photographed ring will cost and go from there. I don't know what your budget is but you may find that there is a large difference between the two which will make the decision easy.

Chel180- Thanks again. Since my stone is GIA I could send a copy of its cert to the jeweler and take your advise to ship with the centre stone unset. Hope jewelers will do this.

I will start getting quotes - I like to not take too much of the jewelers time and narrow down what I'm asking for then let them guide me

Darn budget limits.......I suspect you are right about the variation.

Last question for now - What are your thoughts on pink sapphires? Yes/No and stick with all white.

On Bella's love if jeweler will do pink where exactly?

Thanks again.

I know another Aussie PSer who had the empty setting made in the US and set over here. And she had her already owned centre stone mounted in it locally. As its a certified round there shouldn't be any major problems doing it this way- just check your chosen jeweller is willing.

I personally wouldn't put any colored stones in my engagement ring as I would find it too limiting. I like to mix and match my jewels so I like my all white ering that goes with almost everything. I have gemstone jewellery but don't tend to wear them that often because they dont go with what I'm wearing.

So ask yourself if you would be happy wearing say, a blue dress with your pink jewellery?

That said if you love pink, and aren't as OCD as me then go for it. It would look very pretty and its a very personal choice.
Here are some ideas about where to place pink sapphires>

Chel180 - Thank you so much. The pictures are great. I am listening about staying classically all white and not clashing with my clothes.

I like your 1st coloured version - that is exactly what I thought if I go with pink touches.

I hate choices. I am waiting on price for this and what options I will be able to work with ie. will they make semi-mount etc.

The pictures show what it will look like very clearly. Thanks so much for colouring for me to imagine the look.

Have you decided what you want to go for op?
Will they customise that setting for you?

Thanks for your suggestions. Yes......they are happy to add pink diamonds in rose gold or fancy bright pink in platinium but have pointed out a hike in cost would occur. Understandably I don't have any pricing until I make my selection.

I am thinking of forgetting the pink due to added cost and limitations of adding pink and am keen to order just ER and go with straight bands for either side of the ER.

You have all thought the same thing......all too busy and OTT with matching criss cross WB. My husband and daughter agree.....great decision made.

As an alternative - since I love the VC Emilyo too........I am considering possibly doing a custom Adiamor - Stones only to 5 O'Clock to 7 O'Clock ER - combining these two styles then I get the look of both rings I like.

What do you think? Do you prefer Option 1 or 2.

Do you think the workmanship would be massively different? I am sort of still keen on the KJ but if a massive price difference what do you think?

I have to decide on the design before I get a quote......I really don't want to waste people's time.

All rings will be made in platinum and ER to suit my GIA 1.52ct RB stone.

1. Go with white stones only KJ Bella's Love Round with stones 3/4 around on ER with straight matching bands stones all the way around (is this the set ie. stones 3/4 or all the way around on both????). Cost and durability was my thinking on this combination.

OR

2. Adiamor basket of this one with added stones basket instead of simply wires and add pave stones to be three sided from ring one but use the engraving/migrain of the second ring.

stones in wires

Use rest of this ring + three sided pave not the scroll detail but use the above wire look with stones

Thank you very much for your thoughts........you all have great tastes and understand what works.

I think the KJ ring has something about it, I mean its pretty and special (I have always preferred it without any pink in it). And if thats your first choice then you should go for it. The VC will be stunning- the workmanship second the none but less fancy like the KJ. I think you will be let down if you go with Adimor, of the few rings I have seen from them I haven't been impressed. Adimor is never going to be able to reproduce the finest melee of VC. Custom rings never quite come out the same as the originals as they are made with different people. I fear you will get the worst of both worlds rather than the best.

Why not get a quote from VC to see if you like his prices and then have him custom make you something. A emilya with a few of your favorite accents from the KJ would be stunning. Last quote I got from the VC was very reasonable.

Failing that how about going half eternity on the KJ and having the petals on the basket plain to reduce costs. Like the picture below.

Please don't worry about wasting peoples time- how can you possibly decide what you want without knowing how much it is. These people are sales people and should be delighted to create a couple of quotes for you.

With any ering thats very detailed and pave I would recommend a plain wedding band. I like the contrast between the two. but maybe thats just me.

Any ring you get is gonna be with you for some time. And the designs you like are beautiful but expensive ones. So I guess what I'm saying is that you have to get what you love because none are cheap. I would rather bankrupt myself/wait for my dream ring as you may find yourself with empty pockets anyway and a disappointing ring on your finger that isn't exactly what you wanted.

If it were me, I would omit the pink sapphires. You can always get a beautiful band with pink sapphires to wear on another hand, but I feel like the engagement ring will be the most classic with all diamonds. Just my opinion of course! I have long admired this ring from the web, although I have never had the luck to see it in person. Please post pictures when you get it!

Could you just go rose gold but keep all the diamonds white? That's what I would do. A hint of pink with out hitting you over the head with it.

Chel180 - Thanks again for your input and honest comments. I tend to agree with you about if I like it get the one I love and by mixing and from a different jeweler I may not get what I wanted anyway.

Thank you for your comments on not wasting jewelers designs. I have found them to be a bit cagey about pricing and don't think we are price sensitive between choices. I suppose once we are all spending so much money they feel we should get what we love. I think they don't want to give away their whole price list eg. 1. ER 2. ER with pink 3. Anniversary bands 4. Criss Cross WB but I understand what you mean.....we need price to decide if eg. adding pink is worth extra cost but what would the extra cost be? etc. or in fact a whole different design if one is out of control.

I really appreciate your input.

I have sat on my decision to go ER white only stones 3/4 way with two anniversary straight bands with stones all the way around white only. I still think this is what I love the best and making sure.

Rosebud10 - Thanks too for your posts. I am going off the pink idea. Cost but also the clashing potential with clothes since I plan to wear the set daily. I agree it should be classic as this setting has a lot going on. I can't find many pictures of this ring. I haven't found any posts here either. KJ facebook has some but not up close or great profile or simple hand shots rather than professional photos.

Niel - Thanks too for your suggestions. I like your idea and I do think it would look very pretty and I think it could highlight the floral aspect to this ring. I am leaning towards sticking with the all white look. I certainly didn't think of your version. Wish I had more funds......this version would also push price up. I certainly like this idea for another ring....more money....more fingers needed.

I have now found this similar setting by Erica Courtney? Any comments? I suspect it is more expensive again (her site reads she designs for the celebrities). I am certainly not it that world but a little Aussie who loves bling. I am not trying by any means to get a designer ring.....I am just drawn to the setting certainly not the names as over here I haven't hear of any of them.
I'm sure you understand.

I think I prefer KJ one but what you all think. This is not as blingy and not pave three sided. Planning as with KJ to wear with two straight anniversary bands with stones all the way around.

Lastly, any comments of this one. I like this too but still really love KJ. With this one, I would plan to wear two anniversary bands either side of ER with stones all the way around.

Thank you for any comments, likes/dislikes or suggestions issues I should consider on such a big purchase.

So I did a quick hunt for that setting and I found two jewellers who had published prices for the KJ bella round setting and will sell it to you for around $11.000 USD. Prices do vary between stockist so maybe you could get it for a bit under $10k with some shopping around. Either way that seems like a huge price tag for a ring- all be it a beautiful one.

I would now seriously consider going custom. Leon mege, steven kirsch, victor canera can all do you a superior setting inspired by the KJ bella love but exactly what you want. As it would be custom you can pick and chose the bits you like and dont like. Say going half eternity on it, taking the diamonds off under the basket, etc etc. My advice now would be to email the which ever one of the above designers that you like the work of best and as ask for a quote on a, "Custom made ring in platinum, inspired by this KJ bella round setting, for my (insert diamond size) round diamond, for my (insert ring size) finger." They will give you a ball park price and you can see if its the same/more/less than the KJ and then decide if you would prefer the original or to go for complete custom design.

I am not at all keen on the erica courtney ring- I think it lacks the delicate floral effect you get from the KJ, also I think the quality is lacking. As designer it'll probably be expensive too and you say you prefer the KJ anyway.

Also Not sure if you've already seen it but I found this thread with a PSers photos of her KJ ring, a lotus design I believe so you can see some real life pictures of a KJ.

And if you go to this pinrest link you will see some more photos of the KJ bella love ring that show the detail fairly well.
