Confused & Annoyed about Pricing

1 of my “top choice” on JA became “unavailable” yesterday but it showed up today with a 10.7% price increased! I have contacted them about the diamond (not holding it) at the old price a few days ago before it "went away".

Can you experts please shed some light on how pricing works? Feeling like buying an airline ticket.

I have a feeling that this is not an isolated case…just a bit of bad luck for my search. :(2

JA gets most of their diamonds from suppliers. If the supplier changes the price, JA changes the price, too. Also, listing errors do happen.
Diamond prices fluctuate. It is common. Sometimes, it works for you. But sometimes, just like in this case, it works against you.

You like a diamond. You need to put it on hold. A good stone at a good price does not sit in JA's database for days. Often, it is just a matter of a few hours before someone snatches it.

Thx.

Don’t lose hope, you will catch the right stone if you are patient!

Thus are the joys of the capitalist markets... lol

Depending on who holds the diamond (in-house or otherwise), JA may have some discretion as to the pricing ... if you really are intent on buying the diamond it is worth checking with JA in via telephone or Live Chat - make sure you mention you'd already inquired about the specific diamond within the past few days (and specify the date you'd previously emailed or called or LiveChatted about it) ... and let them know you're ready to purchase but would appreciate buying it at the previously-listed price.

Thanks marymm, it does feel like I am being tested on how serious I am on that diamond...
