I was comparing the specs between my two diamonds and am puzzled

2.105 RB (AGS) 2.12 OEC (GIA)

Meas. 8.31 x 8.24 x 5.12 8.10 x 7.78 x 5.01

Table/Depth 53% / 61.9% 52% / 63.1%

If there is only 1.5 points difference in weight, why is there are significant difference in diameter and overall depth, where is all that weight "hiding"?

The oec has a very thick girdle....That where the extra weight is hiding, and it also has a deeper pavilion.

Ditto, the depth is a bit heavy too which can affect spread in rounds also.

yap, the girdle. And also OEC typically has a higher crown too, so more weight is in there too than a modern RB, but no info is available about that in the diagram.

Ditto the others. Don''t be hard on your OEC though, that''s just the way they were cut.

The other aspect to consider is that the large culet of the OEC is also cutting off some depth. If it had a pointed culet, an OEC wouldn''t, but if you exended the pavillion down to a point, the depth of that one would be even greater, without much addition in weight.

(I hope that made some sort of sense)

Is it common for GIA to not give the additional detail on OEC''s that is given for other cuts??

I think so, especially if the stone''s number differs greatly from norm. For example this traditional GOG OMC, http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4818/
