I'm thinking about buying some new studs as a birthday treat for myself. :Up_to_something2: I dont mind fluoro, and looking at BGD blue line seems like I can get more bang for my buck, particularly with color (basically 3 grades higher than I would in the signature line for the same size and clarity. If I ever want to upgrade the size and switch to signature line, BGDs policy says the upgrade must include 2 of the 3 variables- size, color, and clarity.
Does changing from Blue to Signature count? In other words, is removing fluoro a change of color for purposes of the color variable?
For example, what if I get Blue G-VS, could I later upgrade to Signature H/I-VS in a larger size?

Fluro does not count but changing the color and size would count as 2 of the 3 so should be no issue.

Edit...I just realized you went down in color. I dont think that will work.

The upgrade policy changed from a few years ago.

I think that if you upgrade and the best pair is a H/I VS like your example, they may make an exception, especially if the market is good and the G VS pair would sell quickly. That's something you need to discuss with them.

Got it. While I love the idea of fluoro, thinking I may go with the signature line in lower color so I can upgrade color and size later on.

I think they take this sort of thing on a case by case basis so there is a risk you can't upgrade. If you're definitely upgrading later then best to have some leeway! Good luck and happy shopping!
