We recently purchased a 1.21 diamond, and now I am concerned...we had it looked at by an independent gemologist before it was set, since we were concerned about the reliability of the EGL certificate...for example, it stated D color, but was actually E-F, Symmetry came out VG not Ex.....measurements were very close....
This stone came out Ex, Ex, Ex, andVG when I ran the measurements through the cut advisor..
But when I went back to get the set stone appraised for ins. purposes, he said it was Vg symmetry because the culet is slightly off center...I am concerned, and wonder if it tuly is a "keeper." The guy said over and over "this is an excellent stone." It sparkles like crazy! When we walk in a jewelry store, the salespeople have come over to us and given compliments...
Apparently he didn''t notice it until it was set, and I didn''t notice, so maybe it''s not a big deal...
But it''s driving me crazy now....Any comments? It is set with 3 small rounds on each side (about.43)
