This is a D SI1 with the only inclusion being this feather seen below. I''ve read that feathers around the girdle area can be "dangerous" but wanted to get everyone''s opinion on it.
It looks, from the pics, that the feather breaks the outer surface of the diamond. I'd strongly suggest you get a professional evaluation before proceeding with the purchase of this diamond. An Idenpendent Appraiser will truthfully tell you if the feather poses a potential for structural integrity.
PQ is right--it could be just fine but get it checked out. I asked CutNut about a feather that broker the surface in a princess cut I have and he said he's never seen a diamond crack/break because of a feather, nor has he seen a feather "grow"...but to be sure, have it checked out.
IMO, if you love the stone, and are happy with the price/value, get it checked out to confirm its integrity to be 100% comfortable. If you REALLY love the stone and it's a good price for what you're getting, I wouldn't automatically dismiss it becasue of the feather. That being said, there are also thousands of dimaonds on the market and many options for you if it bothers you tremendously.
