Hello,
I am choosing between two stones.
One is a E color, .71 carat, VS1, 1.5 on HCA, triple excellent GIA.
The other is G color, .8 carat, VS2, 1.9 on HCA, excellent cut, polish, very good symmetry.
Which would you prefer? I want to give my girlfriend as nice a stone as possible.
Thanks

The Very Good symmetry on the G needs to be checked. If you are seeing them in person, which did you prefer?

I'm not that good at recognizing symmetry issues as I'm new to this. They both looked nice and sparkly and it's hard for me to decide between them. I was told that Very Good symmetry isn't that important if the cut is good. Is this not correct?

Can you post the proportions you used for HCA? And the lgf %?

That's for the .71. I unfortunately don't have the .80 handy. I can provide that in a few hours.

Did the G look noticeably bigger than the E? All things being the same (both being well cut) I would take the bigger stone.
If there was really no noticeable size difference between the 2 then I would probably go with the higher color.

The G did look bigger. Just to confirm, are you saying those are well-cut dimensions? What of the "Very Good" symmetry?

It is usually not a problem in a stone with good dimensions like this. can't say anything more without pictures.
