I had no idea that a 1.2mm upgrade would make such. "big" difference. Does this surprise anyone else?
I realize rhere is an optical illusion, as the larger stone is slightly closer to the camera due ti greater depth, but still...
I’ll take another photo with them on an equal plane.

1.2mm makes a big difference in a diamond. .30mm is when I can easily see the difference in size.

DF, I had no idea. I was pleasantly surprised.
Happy Turkey Day!

What are weight and mm of these two stones?

Yep...1.2mm in a diamond is a nice upgrade! Lovely stones!

Yes agree completely.

Jimmianne when I was comparing diamonds from Adam I was surprised that I could see a huge difference (to me) when the OECs were less than .2mm apart in diameter. Visually big difference IMO.

Faces are in the same plane.
It’s hard getting a decent photo when one is working from the “bed office”.

Wow what a huge upgrade in size for you with these asschers. Beautiful and Grand!

Very pretty!

Awesome upgrade!! Absolutely beautiful!!!

I used to have a 6mm and upgraded to a 7.4mm. Yes, It’s quite a difference I agree.

Gosh, what an excellent pair those make! I can't remember if you've made a definite decision about what you'll do with the small one, but I still think it really would make a great pendant to go with the 2 ct ring!

Thanks, everyone for the lovely comments.

DS, it is interesting that they have similarities, on paper as well.
When I scroll through hundreds of ascchers online I always find myself focusing on a very specific look. I like the ones where the center kind of pops out at you, a culet, more clipped corners, table mid-fifties, and slightly off 1.0 ratio.
It makes me wonder if each of us prefers a certain flavor of cut becuase of the way we see and process images : )

Two of three !

... the 2.14 is a third larger by surface area & it shows, of course

Valeria, wow. Who would have thought. Not me. Thanks for the mathimatical approach!

Wow that is quite a difference. Fabulous looking diamonds.

Beautiful upgrade Jimmianne! Does that mean you actually have 3 asschers now? I remember a small one with an onyx setting maybe?

Tyty333- what pointer size are the stones in your profile pic?

:wavey:Hatha
Only two
The smaller one was removed from that onyx setting which did not work well for me, a solitaire lover.
Nice to hear from you!
I see you are an asscher fan as well

Amazingly gorgeous upgrade!

@Jimmianne I saw a photo of your pink stacks in another post - where did you find one just underneath your solitaire, with the cross/flower/Alhambra shaped stones? It’s lovely.

Thank you Monkeysink !

That band is one of my most, if not THE most favorite band.
I found it at a local jewelers and they could or would not tell me the manufacturer. It had no hallmark.
I would love to have another, so if I ever find the source I’ll let you know. I did extensive searching several years ago.
Are you monkeys ink or monkey sink? : )

Is the larger stone an antique asscher? It looks to have a culet

clearfading, good eye!
it is a newly cut vintage style stone from Gemconcepts.

@Jimmianne, bummer on no source! It's Monkeys Ink - I love fountain pen ink and I used to have a monkey lamp on my work desk. :)

Monkeysink thanks haha that’s great.
Also I too have a thing for fountain pens and inks!

Out of the blue I chose Jimmianne as an alias. Years later I recalled that Jimmie and Anne were my best friends when i was five. Lol
