so FINALLY my rings are back from my jeweler

I have 3, one which actually turned REALLY PURPLE in the setting.

Ring stats:
5.5mm round Rhodolite Garnet
LOGR Setting
7.5 ring size

Next up is the sphene

Stats:

6.4mm round sphene
American Set Setting
size 8.25


This ring is only occassional wear. I had a hell of a time with this particular ring but I think it came out well. I will have to take it back to have my jeweler redo one of the prongs because I think its rather wonky looking, but, I also realize that these prongs are super heavy. Being that sphene is such a soft stone, he had to split the prongs in order to set it.

All 3 turned out well, but I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing that spessartite.

Out of all 3 the spess is my absolute favorite. I love them all but that spess is just all about attention! The sphene is really gorgous though, I have a similar colored jacket that it would look great with

I wore the spess today just running my normal errands. The sun came out and I darn near wrecked the car! The color in full sun is really wicked awesome! You see more red component in full sun which I found VERY interesting

I went to Neimans today, and a lady who saw it a few aisles over came over to ask questions about it.

The color is so amazingly rich and that makes me very glad I listened to my gut and got a simple setting to let the stone do its thing.

I usually take gem pics with my point and shoot but since I''ve had to wait so long the new lense for my Panasonic G1 I figured it was a good idea to go ahead and break it in.

When we got engaged I told him I didn''t want an engagement ring, because all the ones I saw were diamonds. We had quite the disagreement *cough*blowout*cough*about getting a colored stone over a diamond. So I didn''t get one. But I have to say I don''t miss having an engagement ring because it allows me to wear a heck of a lot of rings!

I only wear my wedding band when I go to work...*LOL* All of my halos I tend to wear on the right hand, solitares on the left. Its also hard not to wear two at a time. I try not to (but sometimes I just don''t care and do
