I wrote a long post about this in the Colored Stones thread, but I thought I'd post it over here too.
This is a color shift (blue to purple in different lights) sapphire that I purchased and took to I D Jewelers to have set.
They found a fabulous setting for me, then put it together for me with wonderful diamonds that they hand selected for me. For those interested in stats; there are 10 1 pointers around an approx 7 mm stone. Diamonds are F or G, SI 1. My fingers are size 7 and 8, and the coverage is about 14 mm across. The cuts on the diamonds are stunning, I don't think I've ever had an diamonds that are more sparkly in my life. I think they did a pretty great job on the claw prongs, too.
In one photo, you can see the inclusions on the table of the sapphire (invisible to the eye) that may indicate that it is an unheated, untreated sapphire. The diamonds are completely eye clean.
So, that's my bling . . .
