Color question.

I have found a really nice diamond which I am about to pull the trigger on. It''s the right size, love the cut and from what Leslie tells me it is totally eye clean. 1.22 round ideal, GIA, SI1 - I color...

My real question is about the color. Will this work in a thick platinum solitare setting? OR should I be looking for a G - H which would be a bit out of my budget for the size that I want.

An I colored stone from WF should be fine in a platinum setting IMO. There is a thread here on PS with people''s I colored stones in platinum (there is also a thread for J colored stones too!).

I''m a big believer in I color diamonds that are well cut! Have you seen well cut diamonds in person? If not look at different color diamonds to see what you like. Seeing is believing.

An I colored stone will hold its own just fine in platinum or wg.

Oh, that''s a NO BRAINER for me! I say FEAR NOT! Goodness, I is considered "near colorless"! In a well-cut stone, it will face up remarkably and BEAUTIFULLY white. I have a 2.36 J/SI2 that I ADORE! It''s *pretty* -- "very pretty"!

Should not be a problem...if is is a nicely cut "I" I wouldnt worry....

An "I" color will look great in platinum...
