Color Change Amethyst?

Can anyone give me any info about Color Change Amethyst? Is is a real Amethyst? If so, why does it change color? Here is an example:

Does it usally cost more than regular Amethyst?

Wow! If they made amethyst look that different in their standard lighting, I can''t imagine the degree of control...

Amethyst does change shade ever so slightly in different lighting, but nowhere that much. Unless really different and unusual lighting conditions are used. Can''t be very realistic.
