How much more of an impact does color have on a stone as the size of the stone increases from a 1 ct to 2 ct to 3 ct. Is there some truth to the statement that the larger the stone the more visible the color will be?
yes...there is more stone to see...there is more body...so color becomes more important...but that said, I don't care what size someone is looking at, I would say a D E and F look completely colorless...I think it's more of an issue for H and lower...
The larger the stone, the more body to hold color. But lots of factors impact the evidence of color. The presence of fluorescence. The quality of the cut. The tint of the rough the diamond was cut from. Your own personal color sensitivity. The color of the metal the diamond is mounted in. Lots of variables.
