Hello, many many years ago this forum helped me with my engagement ring, and 6 years later I am still very happy with it (my engagement ring with photos https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/looking-for-an-1-or-1-3-ct-oval.228965/#post-4140258)
I wanted a mined stone, oval halo, a very classic choice, yet slightly unconventional due to an oval elongated shape, and I never regretted.
This year I am choosing a colored lab grown diamond for my cocktail ring.
My ultimate budget is 8k with the setting (so 6k for the stone roughly, 6500 max) . James Allen approved me and I go to them for cleanings as my very first diamond was from them. I’ll consider bigger black and grey stones that are mined (the only mined stones in my budget), or yellow lab ones but only super bright intense shades and in bigger carat, and tiny pink lab ones. I would even consider a brown or orange if it’s a nice stone and other shades. I prefer to have it set in halo but I’m still researching about that look.
Initially i wanted a mined sapphire or emerald but quickly was dissatisfied with James Allen options. I did find one I incredibly liked and I posted it on another gemstone forum here on pricescope, but people didn’t say much about my chosen stone so I assumed it was unimpressive.
