Closest replica of the Tiffany solitare?

Can anyone recommend a close replica of the Tiffany solitare (thin band, low-set etc)? The only difference is that I''m actually looking for a 4-prong version, but 6-prongs wouldn''t be too terrible either.

Top view. Setting in 14kt yellow gold shank- white gold head- mounting only $225. Platinum would be much more -obviously. Very traditional and classic. The peg head of this setting allows a band to sit more flush to the ring than the traditional setting. I also think the 6 prong gives the stone a more rounded shape. I have 4 prong settings that make the eye think the stone is square. Go to a local jeweler and try on settings. You'll find what you like.

This looks exactly like the one from Tiffany. You will only find it in 6 prong as that is what Tiffany has.
However, if you like the general look but don''t want that exact replica, many manufacturers including Stuller makes a Tiffany style ring (most any jewerly store will carry it or at least the catalogue, also there are some good pics on good old gold). There is also the more modern Stuller Sostice that another PSer just mentioned. Stuller is a no frills, mass manufacturer that offers good value and quality, but not what you;d get on a "designer" or handmade piece. On the whiteflash site you''ll find a tiffany style four prong such as http://whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Solitaire/Platinum-4-Prong-Tiffany-Style_608.htm. Notice that the prongs are different looking than the Tiffany replica (first link). The shank is also a different shape. This is the type you see most often, IMO. I like all three!

There is a lot of discussion re: four vs six prong. In summary, six prong is more secure but 4 prong lets you see more of the diamond. I think as long as you have the prongs checked regularly, go with whatever you prefer visually. Esp if you get plat you shouldn''t have to worry about security.

Stuller is not meant as a ''replica'' and not built in the same way... Tiffany''s is not a peg head setting.


There are close versions meant to match by WF, NiceIce, Supebcert and... who doesn''t have them

Honestly, I don''t think you will have a hard time at all finding one at least as nicely finished as the original. It is a simple ring.

I agree that SC/Excel's setting is the closest that I have seen online..Demelza just got it and she loves it.

Many of the replicas have a different way of connecting the head to the shank and that is kind of where I think the tiny 'details' come into play.

I adore WF's as well, it seems so polished. NiceIce's would be a close 3rd for me but it seems to have a difference in how the head connects vs the original 'Tiffany'.

I found this saved down to my eye-candy folder and don't know the details other than this is a 2c in a WF platinum setting, but not sure which one it is or if it was custom but I liked it...it's a 4 prong and I like how the head connects to the ring..it's very fluid.

I have the Whiteflash Tiffany setting. They custom make the basket for the stone so you can have it set very low. It is very well made and I have compared it to the original Tiffany. To me, it looks the same.

I see what you mean... It has been a while since I looked at their website at all, and there seem to be some new pictures of such Tiffany-versions aside their initial 'knife edge'. The new ones seem cast in one piece as opposed to assembled so the respective connection you mention is simply not there. And the little holes at the base of the prongs look rough; on the side: perhaps those should mimic the folds of double wires used in the long-ago-lost fabricated version of these settings - even Tiffany doesn't do settings that way anymore, but the dimples are there still. The pictures are not all that terrific and it is hard to make out any detail at all.

The initial knife edge at NiceIce looks pretty good. I hope the rest is more photographic illusion than anything.

As Mara said, I have the Superbcert Tiffany replica and think it''s just beautiful. I''m actually planning a trip to Tiffany''s tomorrow while I''m home in LA visiting my parents for Thanksgiving. I''m just curious to see for myself how close they really are. I''ll let you know!

I haven't seen the betterthandiamond setting in person, but it looks quite nice in the photos. I think it's bit thicker than the Superbcert which is why I decided against it. I have to say that my SC is really very close. I compared it to the settings at Tiffany's and the only difference I could ascertain was in the size of the hole at the base of the head (the SC version is smaller) and the pitch of the angle of the knife edge (more pronounced in the SC version). Other than that, it looks pretty much identical.

ETA I'm in Vancouver too and my friends sometimes call me Al.
