I was just wondering if it was hard to clean under the stone in a Michael B head. It''s got that kind of boxed in head. (just another in my endless range of considerations in looking for the perfect re-set!)

Thanks to any Michael B owners that can chime in!

There are only a few people here who own this particular ring, so it might take awhile to get a response. You might want to consider contacting bill pearlman and asking him about how easy it is to clean them and general maintenance, etc.

angeline, you might ask too if how safe they are for an ultrasonic or steam cleaner. that would probably be the best way to clean them but many don''t recommend using ultrasonics a lot with pave. please let us know what you find out.

I don''t have the princess but I have the crown lace set and I use windex or dish wash soap and hot water and a paint brush with soft fine bristles.

I don''t have any data to back this up but stay away from ultrasonic cleaners because in the time I have used one I have lost more stones in my setting so I have banned the ultrasonic on my setting.

mrssalvo, I am a bit bummed by this! I have been reading all the threads on US etc, and had mine all picked out. I want my stone to look super-sparkly all the time. I will check with Pearlmans and let you know what they say...

kaya, arrggghhhh!!! that is a bit disappointing! I luuurve the Crown Lace too, do you have a thread on it? I would be soooo upset to lose stones but I have heard it''s a fact of life with pave.

Thanks all for your input.

I have the Michael B 3 sided princess pave with a rectangular radiant. My head has my stone boxed in...I can''t see the bottom of the stone at all. I got the ring in March 2005. I diligently cleaned it every day with a small brush & cleaners...took it off whenever I did anything that might make it grimy etc. Well, in Feb this year 2007--I broke down and bought the Sharper Image Ultrasonic...yes I know they are not supposed to be good for pave..but wow, what a difference it makes. All the manual cleaning in the world doesn''t come close to the difference of the ultrasonic. It cleans places that I cannot reach. I clean my rings (I have the matching wedding ring too) probably 3 times a week in the ultrasonic and I have not lost any stones yet. It would be a real pain to start loosing stones but it''s a risk I''m willing to take to have super sparkly rings...besides if I loose a stone in the ultrasonic at least I''ll be able to find it.

that''s interesting ID. You know, I think if I owned a pave ring I just have to put in into an ultrasonic for cleaning too and just chance it. So glad you''ve had such great success with yours.

kaya, what a bummer about your ring. Have you asked the folks at MB about it? You just don''t hear about his rings losing stones like that although it''s possible no matter who the designer
