Hello all! I'm new here. I would like to first thank you all for this great website, I've learned a lot from all the readings

I am currently considering this follow engagement ring (actual diamond photo included):
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-SI2-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1516641.asp

Shape: Round
Carat Weight: 1.02
Cut: Excellent
Color: G
Clarity: SI2
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 62.2%
Table: 59.0%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle:
Culet:
Fluorescence: Faint
Measurements: 6.46*6.43*4.01
Crown Angle: 33.5
Crown %: 13.50
Pavilion Angle: 41.8
Pavilion %: 44.50

The GIA report is here: http://www.jamesallen.com/grading_report.asp?pic=1516641

On the report it says "clarity grade is based on clouds not shown", base from my readings it could be a problem on a SI/SI2 stones. But since usually its a case by case thing, so I would like ask for your experts' advice here.

Also on the "Faint Fluorescence" it shouldn't be a problem right?

Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. :)

skip it, cut is no good.

Be careful with SI2s based on clouds.

Can you please explain why the cut is no good? It has a GIA Excellent Cut grade.

Ditto Julie, skip this one. I'm pretty flexible when it comes to ranges of proportions but this has all the makings of one of the few real GIA EX doozies.

thank you all for the info. I didn't know a diamond with GIA Excellent Cut grade could actually have a bad cut. Looks like GIA grading isn't too reliable.
