I've am still obsessing over a ring and finding the right stone for me. My first question is about clarity characterics. What do these mean?....Crystal, Feather, Cloud, Twinning, and Wisp?

From my previous post I've changed my mind form the BG bezel setting to this one on James Allen. I definitely have my heart set on this setting and know I'll go with JA because of this.

With that setting which stone would you go with? These are the two I've picked. I would love your thoughts. We've increased our budget a bit to up to $2000 for the stone. I just want to make sure I get the best value.

Thank you so much!

Crystal: A mineral crystal contained inside your diamond. It can be small or large, transparent or opaque.

Feather: A break or cleavage inside the diamond. It often takes on a white/feathery appearance.

Cloud: A collection of many tightly grouped pinpoints (tiny crystals). Taken together they have a hazy appearance together - how hazy and visible depends on content and density.

Twinning Wisp: This can be pinpoints, crystals or clouds which formed in the growth plane of the diamond and created structural distortion. When dense a twinning wisp can resemble cotton candy or an airplane's contrail.

The clarity grade is determined based on the Size, Number, Position, Nature and Relief/visibility of the characteristics which are present. When looking at a report or dossier the most significant (grade-setting) inclusion is listed first.

Is you budget $2000 for the stone, or for the stone and setting both?

$2000'for the stone.

Which one of those characteristics would I absolutely not want in a stone?

Thanks!

At I2 clarity I wouldn't want any of them.
At VS2 clarity any of them should be benign (presuming your candidates are all VS2).

It's impossible to give a meaningful answer that applies to these specific diamonds without having them in-hand. A VS2 feather could have more implications than a VS2 crystal, cloud or T Wisp in one given case or another but we can't say for certain; it could be just the opposite for your candidates. Dossier reports, which only list inclusions instead of mapping them, limit our "armchair analysis" even more.
