When looking through the Brian Gavin website for a three-stone setting with pear-shaped diamonds I found the Summer Design. However, I don''t know whether I''m clear about how many total carats the side diamonds are together. From reading the website I wasn''t able to understand whether each side diamond is .40 carats for a total of .80 or if each side pear-shaped diamond was .20 carats each for a total of .40. The other comparable settings with similar side pear-shaped diamonds seemed to have .40 carats each side diamond. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone could help tell me for sure and clarify exactly how many total carats the setting is. Thank you for any help as I am very interested in this setting.

I think it is 0.40 on each side. I am also looking at that setting. :D

That''s good to hear! I was hoping it was, but I was afraid to assume and be disappointed later if I was to purchase it. Yes, it looks like a beauty. Thanks for the quick response. :)

According to the website, it says "3 stone open basket setting featuring 2 x 0.20 ct (0.40 ctw)F/G VS pear shape side stones." This means each one is 0.20 ct.

This is indeed what it says, each is .20 for a total carat weight of .40.

0.20 carat is actually a really nice size for pears, unless your center stone is huge or you are going for more of a three stone look i think it is a good size! i am considering a setting with pear side stones and was going to go with 0.16 carat on each side for a 1.1 carat center

Since I posted this thread, it seems the specs on the Brian Gavin website have been changed. Before I posted, the specs on all three pear-shaped three stone settings read 2 x .40 ctw where as now they all say 2 x 0.20 ct (0.40 ctw). I believe Jax172 read the same thing that I did, and since then it has been modified. Regardless, the Summer is a beautiful setting.
