I bought a chrysoberyl from Gary at Finewater Gems over Christmas at his end of the year blowout. Its quite a lovely greenish yellow. Its 2cts and the cut is amazing.
The setting was from eBay, and a friend of mine rebuilt the head and set the stone free so that was nice. I have to get it sized but I love it so I wanted to share. And my cheap self loves the uber deal ::)

Niel, your ring is gorgeous! And even better that you got a great deal on it. Enjoy in health and happiness. :appl:

Beautiful color - and such a classic setting!
Looks more heirloom than ebay.

That is a very cool ring! I have yet to see a Chrysoberyl IRL but love yellow and green & read on PS that they are highly refractive.
I think the choice of side baguettes for your stone was a great idea! Enjoy!

That's really pretty! Very lovely colour!

What a beauty!!! I already admired your Chryso in the CS section and I am glad you made this thread. Hopefully you will fill it with loads of pics

Yeah prongs were an interesting development. Like I said a friend helped me with them.the whole head needed to be rebuilt, and then of course set, which was going to cut into the 300 or so I was willing to pay for this ring. So he offered to do it for free and I was like awesome! I told him a basket with claw prongs if possible. He assured me "totally", but it came back as some sort of lotus type setting. Not exactly delicate prongs. But I'm not complaining. They look just fine and are very sturdy. Will definitely protect the stone.

The person who set it thought it was a citrine, I believe, so I think she did it to make sure the stone was safe for wearing.

You did well Niel, very nice!

Very pretty and I like the prongs for this stone actually.
