Choosing Princess earrings to use a sidestones in a ring...

Hi all... What a wonderful and amazing site this is! I am going to re-cut an old miner''s cut into a RBC and would like 1 princess stone on each side of the 1.25 round center stone. What size side stones would you suggest and is it smart to buy matching princess earrings and use them for a ring. Thanks for your time and help!!!

So you're gonna recut it... Do you plan on putting one princess on each side? how are you going to set it? Prongs?

Personally, I like smallish sides... I'd go for a 3-3.5mm square or max 4mm...
